New pile drilling tool
For the construction of a pump station wharf in the Dead Sea, TMS designed and built an underwater pile drilling tool. The drill can be lowered into the pile by means of a frame which is supported by the pile. By means of the built in winch in the frame, the drill can be lowered to the seabed, where hard rock can be crushed. To ensure sufficient clamping force for the drilling tool, the inside of the pile is brushed and water sprayed by the drilling tool. This tool can work in combination with a vibro hammer. The drilling tool can drill 2m below pile shoe, than the vibro can drive the pile 2m deeper (while drilling tool stays in the pile).
